Skin Care Tips: Effective Home Remedies For A Glowing Skin

Sometimes, the best of beauty therapies may come, not out of a bottle, but from your kitchen cabinet.  The household items listed below have been doubling up as beautifiers.  Now research confirms that there is a science behind the claims for their therapeutic powers.

Curd as a beauty aid

Curd is one of the best aid to natural good looks.  It contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) which removes dead cells from the skin so that your complexion looks lighter textured.  The bacteria in curd makes the skin soft and glowing. Curd mixed with orange or lemon juice is a good face cleanser. It supplies moisture to the skin and fruit juices provides the essential vitamin c.

One tablespoon of juice should be mixed in one cup of curd.  This should be applied to face and neck and allowed to dry for 15 minutes.  It should then be wiped off with soft tissue and washed with water.

Papaya

Applying pulp of ripe papaya as semi-liquid lotion on the face at least half an hour before bath eliminates freckles and other blemishes of skin and imparts natural glow and lustre.  Applying fresh juice of papaya is also useful for getting rid of pimples.  During the treatment also have at least 250gms of papaya every day in the afternoon.

Lemon And Milk

Lemon can be used as a beauty aid.  Milk is useful as a cosmetic. A fresh lemon should be squeezed in a glassful of boiled milk and set it for 10 minutes.  It should then be applied our face and neck in the night and allowed to dry. It should be washed with warm water in the morning.  Its regular use will whiten the complexion and make the skin soft.  The application can also cure pimples.

Cucumber

Grated cucumber applied over face, eyes and neck for 15 to 20 minutes has been effective as a beauty aid and the best tonic for the skin of the face.  Its regular use prevents pimples, blackheads, wrinkles and dryness of the face.

Honey

Honey smoothes skin, cleans pores and banishes breakouts.  Besides being antibacterial, honey holds in moisture. 1 teaspoon honey should be mixed with  2 teaspoons of curd.  Apply and allow it to remain for 5 minutes before rinsing. Honey contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids, which dissolves dead cells in the skin.

Mint

Mint Application of fresh mint juice over the face every night cures pimples and prevents dryness of the skin.

Green Gram (Mung Dal)

Flour of the Greengram is an excellent detergent and can be used as a substitute for soap.  It removes the dirt and does not cause any skin irritation.  Its application over the face bleaches the colour and gives good complexion.

Bengal Gram Flour

Bengal gram flour is a very effective cleansing agent and its regular use as cosmetic bleach the skin washing the skin with this flour will be highly beneficial.  The Bengal gram flour can be beneficially used in the treatment of pimples.

Groundnut Oil

Groundnut oil can serve as a beauty aid.  A teaspoon of refined groundnut oil, mixed with an equal quantity of time juice, maybe applied daily on the face once before going to bed.  It keeps the face fresh.  Its regular use nourishes the skin and prevents acne.
